Powered Pleasure craft driving licence(ppcdl)
Discover Sailing Asia provides the Powered Pleasure Craft Driving Licence (PPCDL) Course, which is comprehensive course that provides you with the freedom to pilot your own craft upon course completion and the passing of the required examinations. The Powered Pleasure Craft Driving Licence (PPCDL) is required for driving a pleasure craft/ powered yacht that are less than 24 meters in length within Singapore Port Limits.
Please note that we are only providing the PPCDL course, but not the theory examinations and practicals. Examination costs will be covered by students themselves, at their own time and availability for the tests.

Practical Boat Handling & Navigation Theory

Starting procedure: briefing on engine, pre-sailing checks, equipment checks, throttle and steering control, boat handling, man overboard drills, anchoring, berthing drills and unberthing drills, ropework

Look out and collision avoidance drills

Familarisation of local waters, expressing positions at sea, compass errors, variation and deviation.
Passage Planning

Passage planning, avoiding congested areas, time speed and distance factors, traffic separations scheme, shelters, refueling etc.
Practical Boat Handling

Fixing and plotting, reinforcing theory lessons, steering and sailing rules, collision avoidance, look out duties, steering and navigating the boat.
